Over the years we have seen fancy dress weddings, swords & shields weddings, and many ceremonies where a pet has had a starring role.
The Mill Forge is located just two miles from the romantic heart of Gretna Green, which means your wedding won’t be disrupted by tourists, but will still be touched by the village’s romantic history. There is a range of fantastic value wedding packages available. We also have a team of wedding planners who are happy to offer free friendly advice on all aspects of your dream day.
At The Mill Forge, there is also thirty-three ensuite bedrooms, three individual function rooms and have beautiful gardens where a professional wedding photographer can choose from a variety of stunning backdrops while capturing your memories forever.
The Ceremony
When couples choose The Mill Forge as their wedding ceremony venue they are married in a private candlelit ceremony. This is conducted by either a minister (religious ceremony) or a registrar (civil wedding).
Once married the happy couple can be escorted around our maniucured gardens by a professional wedding photographer. They can then join with friends and family for a delicious meal in a private function room.
The Accommodation
Our thirty-three ensuite bedrooms are perfect for wedding guests with double – twin rooms and family accommodation.
There are of course beautiful bridal suites for bride and groom.
All of our bedrooms are arranged around three different courtyards, and there is of course, ample parking for all guests. Each bedroom has tea & coffee making facilities, digital TV, hairdryer, vanity mirror and an iron and ironing board. The bridal suites have everything the other rooms have, plus a four poster bed, whirlpool bath & fridge.

The bar and restaurant are an ideal place to unwind after a long journey and wedding parties are welcome to enjoy them on the day before your celebration. The bar boasts a range of carefully chosen malt whiskies as well as beers, spirits and soft drinks. Our restaurant has a menu that has been designed to suits all diners. Many dishes can be adapted to cater for dietary requirements
